Many of you have asked how you can help us recover from the devastating flood we recently suffered at Bamboo Creek Farm. While we’re still working out what we’ll need to do, we know we will need volunteers to help us! If you’re interested, you can sign up here.
Grow with Us
Global Growers relies on committed and motivated volunteers to help with our farm operations, so we can create and maintain productive spaces for our partner farmers to be successful food producers. No prior farm experience is needed, just an enthusiasm for working hard and getting your hands dirty.
Whether you're a solo worker or a group of 50, we love hosting volunteers at our grow sites. From preparing garden beds and making compost, to farmscaping for increased sustainability and planting and harvesting, we have endless opportunities for volunteers to roll up their sleeves and work to support local agriculture. There are also a range of ways to get involved off the farm, lending a hand at events, working our table at farmers markets, or helping to promote Global Growers within your community.
Volunteering as an Individual
If you are thinking to yourself that one person can’t possibly make a difference, think again! We attract some of the most committed volunteers that support our events, help sustain our farm and gardens, experience hands-on farm work, and learn about local agriculture.
Our individual volunteer program will resume in the spring of 2020. If you are interested, contact us!
Volunteering as a Group
Whether you’re with a community or corporate group, volunteering at our farm and gardens is a great way for you and your peers to give back to the community while promoting teamwork and healthy outdoor activity. Please complete our volunteer inquiry form to schedule your group event and include your group contact phone number and email, dates you wish to volunteer, number of persons you expect to bring, and optionally the program or project for which you wish your group to volunteer.
Remember, when volunteering outdoors it is always a good idea to come prepared. We recommend you bring a water bottle, bug repellent, sunscreen, closed toe shoes, gloves, snacks and appropriate work clothes when working in the garden. It's more fun this way!
