Choose the Themes that you would like to explore:

Sustainability

Caring for our land is at the heart of all we do. Learn why, learn how: pollinator and perennial gardens, soil health, composting, watershed management, invasive species management, forestry and more!

Agriculture

“Clean” food is good food. We share our organic practices, the multitude of crops that thrive seasonally, and how to get great food from both small and large spaces.

Culturally Significant Crops and Foodways

In our gardens,  bitter gourd, chayote, amaranth, roselle’s sour leaves, bok choy, mustard greens, red noodle beans - and so much more - thrive alongside tomatoes, collard greens, yellow squash and carrots. We share our agricultural heritage and foodways with our families, our neighbors and with you.

Community, Food Security, and Family

You’ll find our multi-generational families are often together in our gardens and at our farms, working hard to feed our own families and to have extra food for our neighbors. Join our days in the garden with family and friends.

Local Markets and Local Food Systems

What does it mean to build a local food system that connects our land, our farmers, our markets, our restaurants and our groceries - all with the smallest of carbon footprints and the health of our bodies and our families? Learn from your local growers and leaders!

Where Will You Find Us?

Activities are centered at three Global Growers locations, each of which have unique global learning gardens, event and outdoor classroom facilities, and environment:

The Rockdale Organic Co-Farm • Indian Creek Market Farm • Decatur’s Kitchen Garden.

Indian Creek Market Farm

Global Growers Network relies on volunteers to support our land stewardship activities so that we can maintain productive spaces for growers to produce fresh food. No prior farm experience is needed: just an enthusiasm for working hard and getting your hands dirty!  Whether you're an individual or a group of 20, we love hosting volunteers at our farm and garden sites throughout the growing season.

Decatur’s Kitchen Garden

This flagship garden is shared between more than 35 families, who primarily grow food for their families. Nestled on the grounds of Decatur Legacy Park near the pond, walking trails and Dairy Barn, it showcases the largest natural greenspace in the city to the delight of farmers, families, naturalists and more!
