Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a new farm? Yes, Global Growers has a new 23-acre vegetable farm acquired in 2021. This farm replaces Bamboo Creek Farm that we operated for 10 years in Stone Mountain.
Where is the farm located? The farm is located in Conyers, GA, which is in Rockdale County. It is a 30-minute drive from Clarkston and a 20-minute drive from Snellville. We will provide the address to people who register for a farm tour.
Who is this for? GGN partners with international farmers (all genders) who have farming experience in other countries. Since 2010, we have worked with growers from all over the world, including refugees, immigrants, asylees, and US-born growers.
What type of farm is it? The farm is a “USDA Certified Organic” organic fruit and vegetable farm. This means we do not use any chemicals or practices that can hurt people, animals, or the environment. At this time, we do not have space for livestock/animals.
What does the farm offer to farmers? Global Growers connects farmers to land, education, agricultural resources, and markets. We lease land to farmers at a low cost. Farmers will have access to shared equipment, farm buildings, and tools. Farmers also have access to the farm program.
What is the farm program? Farmers who rent land can attend classes to learn about local farming. Classes will focus on growing local crops, starting a farm business, selling farm products, and buying land.
What are requirements for partner farmers?
Farmers have at least 3 years experience growing vegetables (either in the USA or another country).
Farmers provide their own transportation to the farm (have a car and drivers license).
Farmers are available at least 3 days per week to visit the farm to take care of their land and participate in the farm program.
Farmers have Intermediate-level English writing and speaking skills.
Priority is given to farmers who are refugees/immigrants, first generation Americans, and Rockdale County residents

How does your apprenticeship program work? GGN hosts apprenticeships at the farm in partnership with our anchor farm, Grow with the Flow. Apprentices are employed by Grow with the Flow (paid an hourly rate starting at $18/hour) and will work alongside experienced farmers to learn about organic crop production. Apprentices also have access to all GGN programs, including workshops, co-farming meetings, and partner programming. This is a great option for new farmers who need to gain experience before being ready to start their own farm.
