Global Growers specializes in supporting farmers who have come to metro-Atlanta as legal refugees. Many are from agrarian backgrounds where local foods and food systems were a way of life. As expert agriculturalists from around the world, our farmer network has vital knowledge to offer. We also work with American-born farmers, with an emphasis on low-income and socially disadvantaged growers who are not currently being served by mainstream agricultural organizations. The farmers are global, and the food is local.
Global Growers provides land and agricultural support to develop hands-on production skills relevant to farming in the Southeast U.S. Our education program covers organic agricultural production, business development, and food safety. Global Growers partners with families who are growing food primarily for home (community growers), as well as families who are growing food primarily to earn income (commercial growers).
