Solar Energy at BCF!

We're excited to share a little about our transition to more renewable energy sources, beginning this summer at Bamboo Creek Farm.

With the installation of 28 solar panels at our Bamboo Creek Farm site, Global Growers expects to be the first farm in the metro-Atlanta area to have walk-in coolers partially powered by solar energy. So cool! Many thanks go to the Solarize Decatur-DeKalb Coalition for their support and partnership in this project!

What Is It?: Roselle

The roselle plant is a species of Hibiscus that goes very well in the summer. A popular ingredient in Burmese cooking, it's leaves are lemony and sour tasting and work well with curries, pickling, or cooked with strong and spicy flavors. The Burmese say "chin baung ywat" which is translated into "sour leaf."  Try mixing the leaves in with a salad or using it to brighten up a summer cocktail!
