Keeping It Local
Since 2010, the Global Growers Market Co-Op has sold over $150,000 of local produce through our Farm Share program, farmers markets, and local restaurant and wholesale partnerships. We are committed to offering fair prices to our farmers and healthy food to our community. One of the greatest ways to support our farmers is by purchasing their food. Become a Farm Share member, or find us at the Decatur Farmers Market or the Freedom Farmers Market.
85% of our produce is distributed at low or no cost to food insecure members of our community or is sold by grower to local small grocers and restaurants. Many of our farmers specialize in growing unique and culturally specific produce. We believe that food security and nutrition has as much to do with having the right foods as enough food.
Where to find us
Every Wednesday, we are at the Decatur Farmers Market from 4pm to 7pm. The market is located at 308 Clairemont Ave, on the corner of Commerce Street, in the “Pecan Grove” of the First Baptist Church of Decatur. With picnic benches and plenty of space to sit and enjoy the outdoor market, it’s a perfect place for families to gather. Look for the tents; you can’t miss us!
Every Saturday, we are at the Freedom Farmers Market at 453 Freedom Pkwy NE by the Carter Center. Each market March- December features live music, a kid's tent, and a local chef with hot prepared foods. The market also holds monthly events featuring the fruit or vegetable of the season. Stop by, say hi, and try some veggies!
